Ways to Give Back

November is the perfect time to come together and make a difference in our community. Whether you give your time, share resources, or perform small acts of kindness, every effort helps. Here are a few simple ways for families to give back together this season:

  • Host a neighborhood donation drive — Collect canned goods, coats, or pet supplies and donate them to a local charity.
  • Volunteer as a family — Help at a local pantry, sort food donations, or deliver meals to neighbors in need.
  • Make handmade cards or crafts — Create thank-you notes for first responders, healthcare workers, or teachers.
  • Donate gently used toys or clothes — Involve your kids in sorting through items they’ve outgrown and choosing what to give.
  • Start a gratitude jar — Each day, write down one thing your family is thankful for and share them at Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Support a local fundraiser — Attend a charity event, fun run, or local business donation drive.
  • Perform random acts of kindness — Pay for someone’s coffee, leave positive notes around town, or surprise a neighbor with baked goods.
  • Support local drives — Check with schools, churches, or neighborhood associations hosting food or coat drives.
